Skills

Visual Basic. 15 years experience. I have written applications in every version of Visual Basic from VB for MS-DOS to VB.NET designing, writing, and debugging a wide variety of applications. Most of these applications connected to Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and Oracle databases via ADO and ODBC. I have also written OLE, COM and ActiveX objects using Visual Basic. I have also used VB to output to Outlook, Excel, Word, and various file formats.

VBA. 3 years of experience creating VBA applications in Microsoft Access. Used the Excel and Word Objects to create a variety of spreadsheets and Word documents for data analysis and the Outlook object to generate emails.

Cold Fusion. Created, modified and debugged pages in a large-scale production management system. This system linked to various Oracle databases.

ASP (Microsoft Active Server Pages). Designed, wrote, and debugged real-time commodities exchange software and user-interfaces for anti-virus software. I have used both Java Script and VB Script includes as well as ADO connections to both Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Access databases.

Oracle. 3 years experience with Oracle and PL/SQL. Created and modified tables that were part of a large-scale production management system. Analyzed queries to increase their efficiency. Wrote sophisticated queries as well as insert and update statements.

Documentation Skills. Documented existing VB/ASP/C++ code and T-SQL stored procedures, produced technical specifications, in-house memorandum, and end-user documentation and manuals for a wide variety of applications.

• Converted an existing Visual Basic 6.0 application to a multi-tiered web-based application using a combination of Active Server Pages, Visual Basic 6.0 COM objects, and DHTML. Web pages interfaced to a Microsoft SQL-Server database that I helped migrate and modify from an existing MS Access database.
• Created prototype web-based software using Cold Fusion and DHTML.
• Debugged an existing Visual Basic 6.0 GUI program for anti-virus software that accessed a Microsoft Access database using ADO under Visual Source Safe 5.0 on a Windows NT System. This program also made use of third-party OCX's.

• Wrote and edited DHTML pages that were used as part of a web-based database integration system written in Java running under Apache Server.
